BON 05 | NOSTALGIC BONJERUK

The journey begins with check-in at one of Bonjeruk’s homestays—heritage-style accommodations dating back to the 1930s, characterized by colonial-era architecture and a peaceful residential atmosphere.

3 Days, 2 Nights Tours Program

Day 1: Arrival, Community Engagement, and Culinary Experience

The journey begins with check-in at one of Bonjeruk’s homestays—heritage-style accommodations dating back to the 1930s, characterized by colonial-era architecture and a peaceful residential atmosphere. Guests are introduced to village life through a welcoming lunch and an overview of the program delivered by the local guide.

The afternoon is dedicated to meaningful interaction through a voluntary session at the Bonjeruk Youth Learning Center (BYLC). Here, visitors participate in community activities that aim to support local youth development. This engagement sets the tone for the nostalgic theme of the program, emphasizing connection, shared experiences, and cultural exchange.

As the sun dips, guests take part in a cooking class led by a local chef. Using traditional recipes and ingredients sourced from nearby gardens, they prepare dishes reminiscent of family-style village meals. A candlelight dinner follows, offering a warm, intimate end to the first evening before returning to the homestay for leisure and rest.

Day 2: Nature, Craftsmanship, Cycling, and Bamboo Garden Dinner

The second day begins with breakfast at the homestay before setting out for the Presak Tour Gate. A scenic walk through the rice fields leads to Kampoeng Presak, where visitors observe handwoven textiles being crafted and witness traditional coffee roasting. Seasonal fruits—fresh, fragrant, and picked from local gardens—add to the sensory experience.

The journey continues through Kampoeng Ombak and onward to Kampoeng Batu Jering, where guests explore the diverse plant life within Bonjeruk Organic. Here, they join a workshop on traditional village products, deepening their appreciation for local skills and heritage.

Lunch is served at Kantin 21, featuring regional specialties including Ayam Merangkat and Sate Kuncung, enjoyed amid rice-field scenery. After a break at the homestay, the afternoon proceeds with a gentle village cycling tour that concludes at Pasar Bambu Bonjeruk, a bamboo-structured market offering snacks and refreshments.

The day closes with a memorable dinner beneath a bamboo garden, blending nature, traditional flavors, and an atmosphere of quiet village charm.

Day 3: Cultural Immersion and Farewell

The final day begins with breakfast followed by a cycling trip to the Gema Tastura Art Center. Visitors learn the traditional art of Gendang Beleq, guided by skilled local musicians. This interactive session provides a deep cultural resonance, connecting guests to the expressive traditions of the region.

The program concludes with leisure time, checkout preparation, and a farewell lunch at Semilir Restaurant, offering a final taste of Bonjeruk’s warm hospitality before departure.
